34. The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender Notch this one in the “you can read this in a day” category. Like a good lemon cake, it’s fluffy, tangy, and easy to devour. I wouldn’t call it sweet or sugary — be prepared for some sadness — but I’d recommend this book for some easy, casual summer reading.
